Week Two Reflection

This week was a bit tough, with the Reading class going on. I didn't have much of an opportunity to get to work on this weeks' assignments until Friday night. But, I think I have come up with a plan for my unit, and I have found some information for our group project, so I am feeling a little bit better. After reading the articles, (mine included), I have a little bit better understanding about what a PBL unit should be about. I found the Project Analysis Form assignment helpful. After working on that, I have a good idea of how to put down my work for the PBL unit. I haven't had a chance to look at the standard-based learning sites yet, but will get to that some time today. So, I'm getting there, slowly but surly.

  1. I agree that going over the articles concerning PBL, it is actually easier to see it coming into our actual teaching and creating a unit. I have actually really gotten several ideas already, so now the fun of picking what would work best for me begins.

  2. I know what you mean about being swamped between this and the other class. I definitely put off some of my stuff for this class to finish up that whirlwind of a 3-credit course. I worry most about the group project because I don't want to let any of you down. I think I've gotten everything under control and I'm liking a lot of the project based learning stuff that we're talking about, because it's the way that I want to teach, so I like everything that we've been talking about.

  3. I agree that after doing the project analysis form gave me a better understanding of what I'm to do. I think you and I have similar situations with the students that we will be servicing. Its hard to think of a PBL with the little ones. I would like to make the attempt at doing one but being new and trying to restructure the LMS....... I think I might be over my head.
